The Makita 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless 4-1/2"/ 5” Paddle switch Cut-Off/angle Grinder with Electric brake delivers corded grinding performance without the cord (tool only, battery and charger sold separately). Powered by a Makita Brushless motor, it offers longer run time, increased power and speed, and extended tool life.

For demanding applications, Makita’s automatic speed Change™ technology adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimal performance. The XAG20Z grinder is perfect for grinding and cutting a variety of materials such as tile, concrete, pipe, and conduit.

Features include an Electric brake that stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less, and electronic torque control that shuts off the motor if rotation speed slows or the wheel stops. The variable speed control dial allows manual RPM adjustment (3,000 – 8,500) to match the speed to the task at hand.

Part of Makita’s 18V Lithium-Ion system, the tool is compatible with Makita’s 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, known for their quick charge times. Star protection Computer controls™ ensure improved tool performance and extended battery life by monitoring conditions in real time.

Additionally, the tool can be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and compact Lithium-Ion batteries with Star protection. The Electric brake stops the wheel quickly for maximum productivity, while Active feedback-sensing technology (AFT) turns off the motor if the wheel rotation is suddenly forced to stop.

The BL Brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life by eliminating carbon brushes. Automatic speed change technology enhances performance by adjusting speed and torque as needed.
