The 18V LXT 4.0Ah battery (BL1840) is designed to work exclusively with Star Protection tools, which can be identified by the Star Symbol and/or Yellow Battery Receiver on the tool. Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries are designed to resist self-discharge, ensuring they are always ready for use even after extended periods of storage.

For efficient charging, the Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) is equipped with advanced technology to communicate with the battery during charging.
