Makita, a leader in battery innovation and brushless motor technology, has combined both in the 18V X2 LXT (36V) Lithium-Ion Brushless Rear Handle 7-1/4” Circular Saw (XSR01Z, tool only - batteries and charger sold separately). This powerful saw is driven by two 18V LXT Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum performance, with an electronically-controlled BL Brushless motor that adjusts torque and RPM according to the task at hand.

With Makita 18V X2 technology, users can experience freedom from cords, even when tackling tough jobs like cutting sheet and dimensional lumber that usually require a corded saw. The XSR01Z allows users to stay within the same battery platform, using the fast-charging 18V batteries that are compatible with the extensive Makita 18V LXT cordless tool series.

Designed for efficient cutting without the hassle of a cord, the XSR01Z boasts a blade-left rear-handle design favored by users accustomed to leading corded saws. The brushless motor delivers a powerful 5,100 RPM for quick and efficient cutting, with internal tests showing up to 558 cross-cuts in 2x4 SPF lumber using two 5.0Ah batteries.

Additional features include a generous 2-9/16” cutting capacity at 90 degrees, allowing for cutting 3X lumber in a single pass, as well as an electric brake for enhanced productivity. The saw is constructed with a durable die-cast magnesium base and blade guard, along with a die-cast aluminum blade cover and motor housing, all while maintaining a lightweight design at just 12.4 lbs. (with batteries, sold separately).

This saw is part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, known as the largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita’s 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their class, allowing users to spend more time working and less time waiting for batteries to charge.

To enhance tool performance and extend battery life, Makita has incorporated Star Protection Computer Controls in the XSR01Z. This communication technology enables real-time data exchange between the tool and battery, monitoring conditions during use to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

For added versatility, the saw can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol indicating the presence of Star Protection technology.
