Further enhancing precision is the tightening mode (T-mode), which decreases rotation and impact speed before driving the screw into place. The tool also includes a one-touch 4-speed power selector button located under the chuck, allowing for easy, one-handed speed changes. Additionally, the reverse rotation auto-stop mode stops rotation and impact when the fastener is loosened sufficiently, preventing over-loosening and dropped fasteners.

To enhance tool performance and extend battery life, Makita developed Star Protection Computer controls. This communication technology enables the tool and battery to exchange real-time data, monitoring conditions during use to safeguard against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

Notably, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and compact Lithium-Ion batteries featuring the Star symbol, indicating the presence of Star protection. With an impressive 3,600 max RPM and 1,600 inches pounds of max torque, the BL Brushless motor delivers exceptional performance. The 4-speed power selection provides precise fastening control for a wide range of applications, while the assist mode (A mode) helps prevent issues like "screw came out" and "cross-threading" by driving at a low speed until tightening begins.
