To meet this demand, Makita has expanded their line of cordless equipment with the 18V x2 LXT Lithium-Ion (36V) Brushless cordless power head for the couple shaft. This power head offers zero emissions, reduced noise, and enhanced versatility, making it a convenient solution for a range of trimming and cutting tasks. It is powered by two 18V LXT batteries for optimal performance and extended run time, eliminating the need for gas and allowing users to stay within the 18V battery platform.

The power head is designed to be compatible with various optional couple shaft attachments, featuring a lever style lock system for quick and tool-less installation and replacement. Users have the option to utilize different attachments for tasks such as trimming, edging, cultivating, and brush cutting (attachments sold separately). The XUX01M5PT kit includes a string trimmer attachment for added convenience.

Makita's efficient BL Brushless motor is equipped with electronic controls to maximize battery energy usage, resulting in up to 50% longer run time per battery charge compared to non-brushless tools. The motor adjusts energy consumption based on the application's requirements, providing additional power and speed when needed. With no carbon brushes, the BL Brushless motor operates at cooler temperatures for extended durability. The electronic torque control feature automatically shuts off the motor if rotation speed decreases suddenly, while the overheat warning system activates an indicator light and stops the motor to prevent damage.

Additional features of the power head include a variable speed trigger and a reverse (clockwise) rotation system for quickly clearing entangled weed and grass from the brush cutter head. The Makita-built Brushless motor delivers a maximum speed of up to 7,100 RPM for efficient cutting tasks. Users can select from three speed options (Low: 4,200 RPM, Medium: 6,000 RPM, High: 7,100 RPM) for precise power management. The power head is compatible with various Makita couple shaft attachments for versatile applications, and the lever style lock system ensures easy and quick installation and replacement of attachments.
